PCM-3664 PC/104 10-Base T LAN Module

Advantech's PCM-3664 industrial grade PC/104 LAN module is available now. The PCM-3664 is a cost effective solution for adding Ethernet capability to any CPU card with a PC/104 connector. With today's broad spectrum of applications that demand network flexibility and functionality, this board works well in all kinds of operating environments, these include industrial, home appliance, medical devices and numerous other embedded applications.

The PCM-3664 is a high-performance 16-bit jumperless ehternet interface module. The module automatically senses whether it is connected to an 8-bit or 16-bit PC/104 system. The module includes a built-in 10 Base-T transceiver and RJ-45 connector. An onboard BNC connector that supports 10 Base-2 is available as well. The PCM-3664 fully complies with IEEE 802.3 01 Mbps CSMA/CD standards and is 100 % Novell NE2000 compatible.

Integrates Well

The PCM-3664 comes with drivers for a wide variety of networks and operating systems. The RTL 8013 chipset is one of the most common and thoroughly tested on the market today. So the pretested reliability of this system on numerous mainstream operating systems eliminates compatibility and driver concerns. This eases integrators system configuration concerns.

Multiple Application Possibilities

Application possibilities are numerous. Added to one of Advantech's slot, biscuit or PC/104 CPU cards, such as the PCA-6751, PCA-6753, PCM-5820 or PCM-3346, the added low profile, dual ethernet capability opens products up to applications single ethernet SBCs can't. For example, Firewall, Router or Gateway network functions can now be easy accomplished. This increased capability is a cost effective way to upgrade current hardware platforms while leveraging existing software and hardware. With the PCM-3664 stacked on a PC/104 CPU card and combined with other PC/104 modules such as the PCM-3201 sound module, powerful solutions can be developed that are extremely small in size, powerful and can go into tight space restricted embedded applications.
